"Beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow." -Aesop
I think this quote captures very well something we have talked about in class. We discussed how participating in art may be a sacred action, but if one is focused on the act itself instead of the experience, the worth of the action is lost. A person must allow himself to be taken up in doing/being the art form, and should not try to understand it until later. This is the talent of the artist.
