"Faced by lonliness and despair, people turn to art and music for comfort and inspiration," similarly today people turn to God in times of despair and lonliness as well. In times of need people need something to fill in the gaps to become satisfied. In this text, Wuthnow discussed how music can become a part of the religious imagination, similar to how belief and faith in God can. Everyone needs their own outlet to become freed from the real world and become beside themselves. It gives you a chance to get your mind together and rethink about the situation that can be stressful. Listening to music can revive a religious experience as well as find deeper meaning through experience in life. Music is listened to everyday, whether it is the radio, nature, or outside sound, you are listening to music without even knowing it. Music is the perfect expression of the heart. Music can communicate to people in so many ways and people engage in the conversation between music, themselves and another outside sacred force. In a sense, music can be seen as sublime because it is such a wonderous feeling that is so overpowering that it can make you feel small and weak in its presence. "The greatest music that has ever been composed has been in celebration of spirituality", and in celebrating spirituality it communicates a message to the listener of the music and allows them to find new meaning to their problem and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
